We placed our directory listing in the Healthcare IT Yellow
pages a little over a year ago – July 2003. At first, I saw very little response
to the listing and was wondering if it would work out. As this was an annual
subscription, we decided to let it ride and monitor the statistics through both
web tracking as well as by adding a voluntary “How did you find us” entry field
on our website contact page. One of the first benefits we noticed was after about three months the number of Hits to our website had increased significantly and our web ranking took a huge jump as a result of our directory listing. This has continued to increase month over month. Towards the end of our first year in the directory we were noticing that most of our direct website contacts had stated they found us in the Healthcare IT Yellow Pages. To date, roughly 30% of all our website contacts are selecting this directory as the source of how they found us on the Internet. Considering that we have many internet marketing campaigns in effect, this is just phenomenal. This is by far the single highest response percentage of any of our campaigns. There is definitely truth in the axiom that any advertising or marketing campaign takes time, results are not instantaneous, and consistency is the key to success. Our decision to place a listing in the Healthcare IT Yellow pages was one the best online marketing decisions we have made. Was it worth the money spent? No, it was worth about 10 times the money we spent! This is definitely one of the best values on the Internet today and I applaud the folks at On-Line Consultant Software and the Healthcare IT Yellow Pages for providing a wonderful service.
